Movies for English learning!
This is my ever-green favourite animation movie. I watched this since I was a little girl. I extremely love this movie. I watched it everyday. I even memorised the songs in this movie! I think I was in primary school at that time. As I watched it several times, I was able to write the lyric of the main song (Let me be your wings) just by listening to the song. Well, those days there were no internet or Mr Google to assist me. To my surprise, I could learn English very well through movies and songs.
Movies are actually useful for young learners as they are fun. Students love learning without doing any task, right? Hehe. Well, you can include your lesson indirectly for example:
Before the movie viewing:
1) you can give out open-ended questions, list of vocabulary, names of characters or even discuss one of the theme.
While viewing:
1) The students can relate the previous discussion and find the answers for the questions you have given earlier.
Post viewing:
1) Students provide responses regarding the movie; their feelings, opinions
2) Discuss the answer for the questions given.
3) You can highlight the moral values in each movie,or portrayed in each character either from the good or bad characters.(I like to highlight this part of the lesson as students could relate it to their own experience)
I have done movie viewing for my students. They loved it and had great time. Although, I understand about the time constrain as the time are limit to 80 mins. Well, I suggest you do it during extra class or tuition. If you will need to kill 2hours fruitfully so try this method.
Here are my list of movies that I have used for my class:
1) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ( the most fav )
2) Ratatouille
3) Ice Princess
4) Rio (the recent most fav)
5) Wall-E
6) Toothfairy
7) Pacifier
Try it! and Have fun! ^_^
Me in the year of 2012
This is your Miss Farah. ^_^
Picture taken on May 2012 during Teacher's Day celebration at SMK Datok Syed Ahmad, Kuala Nerang, Kedah. Looking old...obviously because she is already 27 years old. She was having stressful first months of 2012 as she is in charge of the Form 5 Academic Performance. Her job is to plan out the Form 5 extra classes throughout the year and make sure the ETR is achieved! However, with the assistance from my helpful colleagues, I managed to make it through! yeay!
My job now is make sure all my five classes which are 3 classes of form 5 and 2 classes of form 2 get a flying colour result in SPM and the final exam. InsyaAllah.

A Day out with my 3 Elite 1 ^_^
I'm touched watching this sweet video.....
The best Saturday ever which was on 15 October 2011, 17 of 3E1 students with sweats and delays, travelled by a crumpy public bus to Jitra. Independently, they travelled to Jitra Mall just to attend their end-year class party organised by their forever-like -busy English teacher.
The idea to have this ridiculous but fun trip was when the students insisted me to organise a trip after PMR exam. Unfortunately, I was tied up with SPM classes which made me a little bit reluctant to have a normal trip as I might skip my SPM classes.
But since they wanted a trip so badly, I gave them one. A trip to Jitra Mall with the cheapest transport - the public bus! We planned the time for them to wait for the bus and I waited for them in Jitra. The agenda of our special trip are :
1)PIZZA HUT ( to fill up the starving tummies which had travelled 2 hours on wobbly roads),
2)then MOVIE TIME (we watched 'The sorcerer & the white snake"- which was a terribly wrong choice for these kids- Sorry guys, I didn't know since I haven't watch it) It was my mistakes to contaminate the kids' minds with minor 'blue' thingy :P . However, they still enjoyed the ending of the story,
3)next LET'S BOWL! - The boys were looking forward for this part. Only 3 girls (including me) joined in the game. And guess what!? I won 2nd place together with Harith as we earned similar total pins. The rest of the girls were our 'pom-pom girls'- our supporters!
4) lastly KAROKS (KARAOKE) - This one was the girls fav! We sang just a few songs as I booked the room only for half an hour. The time was limited. They needed to wait for the last bus home at 6.30pm.
After the boys had their second bowling round and the girls had their voice shrieking moments, we moved separately to our own way home. Me-Alor Setar and my students -Kuala Nerang. Farewell my dearest 3E1.....
Thank you Arif Nadzir for your efforts making this simple but memorable video. and thank you all my form 3 Elte 1 (2011) InsyaAllah... you are all will obtain flying colour results and pursuit your ever-wanted dreams in life! May Allah bless you always...
With love,
Miss Farah 2011

Activated!
The Average
envy the good English they speak
envy the great shape they have
envy the stunning features they own
envy the brilliant brain they have
envy the huge fortune they inherit
envy the opportunities offered to them
envy the endless attention they received
but
I’m just the average
normal
ordinary
unlucky
where’s no one recognise nor remember
where’s nobody can differentiate
even my name is common,
nothing about me is unique to be fossilised
everything is just average
being blessed and glad
That is who I am.

Two Things in Life
TWO THINGS IN LIFE
which to have
which to choose
which to lose
education determines the job
the job determines the huge fortune
fortune determines happiness
while
marriage determines commitment as well as responsible
it brings pure love and happiness
sometimes it also brings sadness and depression; regret
each choice determines your journey in life
better education doesn’t mean you have better marriage
good marriage doesn’t mean you have great job
if you choose education, marriage will be ages away, perhaps never
if you choose marriage, education will be remains
life is what you decide
life is what you prepared to face
any road that you choose to take,
make sure that
finally you're the winner

Working World!~~
Finally..I am a real TEACHER.... hehe...felt like I was dreaming at first..but it is a reality...13 July 2009 I report duty at SMK Datuk Syed Ahmad, Kuala Nerang.....it was 3.30 pm if im not mistaken...even the PKHEM nak balik dah...hehe tapi sempat jugak kami tangkap dia and accept my repot duty.hehhe ganas tue di hari pertama...
Baru days working...I was not given any class or schedule yet....so I just lepak around the school la..make friends....miggle around with senior teachers.. Then on Wed and Thurs I was given to relief some classes. That was when I had the chance to get to know the students.
Well, basically the students in my school are coming rural areas but not all are poor or come form unfortunate families. Some are rich and in middle class people. But the surrounding and the environment is still rural la for me..hehe... Dont worry the school has Wi-fi and internet, computer labs, LCD eveything...The school also has a group of excellent English teachers. Im very proud of that though.
I was so welcomed by the members of the school. Everybody is friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful..in short i have no problem at all. The administration is also cool. I need to have god relationshp with the clerks coz they are the one who handle my salary....that is extremely IMPORTANT! ehhee....top priorty!..hehe.... The principal is a serious man but ok kot rasanya... apapon dont mess with him!!
The school is actually situated 35 km from Alor Star (my hometown)....so it takes about 45minutes of driving to reach there. So i need to wake up at 5am everyday to arrive there 7.30am sharp. The road is not too smooth, lots of lorries, trailers, vehicles, very busy road....quite difficult sometimes to drive fast. However I really hope I can cope with it. I planned to berulang not staying there..
Above all,...I want to annouce that I am officially own a car. At last 'my car'..i have a car.. Proton Wira aeroback -BGJ 4963, 1.5- auto. Bolehla untuk kereta pertama...permulaan la katakan.... eventhough 2nd hand car...but at least i have a car to send me to school everyday. nanti lama sket, tukarla yg canggeh sket...ehehe bagi stable dulu...drive pon bg cekap sket, bleh driff semua..boleh la beli Accord. hehehe..beranganla..
Anyway, I pray that All my cohort 2 frens have a great school, colleagues and students for their first posting....InsyaAllah..semuanya selamat, berjalan lancar,berjaya....and most of all, all of us will be the BESTES English teacher of all times...
Opss! I forget to mention that my school is a cluster school. Just get the award this year... A cluster school for Daerah Padang Terap. dalam daerah ni, kira sekolah nie la yg paling elite sekali.chewah. Kami pon baru dapat tau masa lapor diri. tu pon pengetua bg bgtau. terkezut jugak, kami tak kenal pon sekolah syed ahmad nie...n burden will be more towards the teachers in order to maintain the results since it is a cluster school. ..Alahai....ingat sekolah kampung je..skali skolah cluster..matila aku kena keja kuat....
Wutever it is...the journey must go on.... bak kata the principal " Jadilah seorang guru ,jangan bekerja saja sebagai guru".... Lu pikirla seniri...hehehe....

Welcome to Kedah! hehe
Welcome to Kedah kepada my frenz yang dari Perak and Penang......
Selamat bertugas di Negeri Kedah which is also known as "The Rice Bowl of Malaysia".. yeke rice bowl....?? skrg mcm kekurangan padi jer..siap kena import beras Siam n Taiwan lagik.... Apapon kurangkan makanan berkarbohidrat tinggi which is harmful to your health if you take more than the amount that u should have.....
Rumours that I heard (which exactly brought up by my mom..hehe) that those new fresh teachers will be posted to Langkawi and Baling. The JPN Kedah wants us to serve the rural areas first and they will bring the senior teachers from the rurals to town areas.... just like a cycle.... Well guys be prepared.... hurry up search on google about Kedah's map or Langkawi Island.... For those who never been to Langkawi.... seriously HOTT! and full of tourists......so guys especially men can easily 'cuci mata' la...hehe....well take that as a challenge for us. Those who is a little bit lucky will get Baling....(I dont know why I said lucky) but maybe because Baling is definitely not an island..so its secure, no need to wait for a boat to come to the mainland....cooler hehe....and rural....I think you guys better ask Che We coz she lives near Baling....n Baling town is her only playground...hehe... but remember Baling is quite a huge area....there are still rural areas but not TOO rural as ulu-ulu...NOT TO WORRY! hehe
Apart from that, if u guys get posted to Langkawi...it probably will be much more fun.... just like Q said to me " If we are all being posted to Langkawi, we can open a TESL CHALET for our frens!" hehe.....huge dreams rite...but just look at the positive side.....
Anyway..I just wanna inform u guys WHO wanna come to Kedah and DONT have place to stay...Plz contact me,because my aunt has opened a budget motel in Jln Pegawai Alor Star.. the price range is between RM60 -RM90 per room..so if u are interested plz give me a call. Thanks guys! C ya soon!

Tak Mungkin Kerna Sayang...
Buat kengkawan ku cikgu cikgi TESL....rasanya lagu ni ditujukan utk semua.....
sebenarnya, Fariha Yahya yang mencadangkan lagu ni..katanya "lagu ni melambangkan friendship kita semua"...marilah kita menghayati lagu ni " Alyah -Tidak Mungkin Kerana Sayang"
Setiba di persimpangan,
Langkah kita tak lagi sehaluan
Bermula di saat itu
Tidak senada irama dan lagu
Begitu hidup ini
Tiada yang abadi
Yang patah tumbuh
Yang hilang berganti
Kau telah jauh, jauh dariku
Tiada ruang di hati buatmu
Namun harusku akui
Ada ketika di minda kau menjelma kembali
Sekali segala ada
Ada rindu yang datang tiba2
Tak mungkin kerana sayang
Cuma terganggu oleh perasaan
Begitu hidup ini
Tiada yang abadi
Yang patah tumbuh
Yang hilang berganti
OMG, I'm writing my first blog......
This is my first time writing a blog of mine......seem quite interesting and I got the encouragement by looking and reading my friends(TESL C2)' blogs.....all are very creative, memorable....so I made up my mine to start blogging hehe.... sound serious isn't it....dont worry.... it's just a light fun reading stuff for all.....
The way I see it, or just see it(bcoz everybody seem to know it already except me) hehe....Blog is a great way to connect us...to connect me and my friends especially (TESL C2)..to keep in touch and share expriences since we are being scattered all over Malaysia to serve our beloved country by educating the Generation!... quite a serious job isn't guys...but this is our road..our destiny..... so face it with open arms and do your extra BEST!..
